Progress Update 2

Mathematical Methods
  • How did you "generalize?"

Well I generalize my equation by first figuring out how much my width went up by. Then all I really had was to replace the number with the X value and find how much was the girth in which was h+h+w+w in which equal the girth. I actually found this very easy because the chart I had made before generalize it helped me a lot.

  • How did you set up your axes when graphing?

The way I set up my axes when I was graphing was by making a table. In this table I wrote down the maximum, the minimum and how much I should go up by. It was very easy once I had all my charts in front of me.

  • How did you organize your data into different tables?

The way I organize my data into different tables in keeping track of all the number I was going up by and working as a group with my partner. When I started to graph it became a bit more harder in keeping track of the numbers and dots, so I used different colors to help me organize my graphs and number. This really helped me a lot and when I do start my PBAT i'm going to organize it the same way.

  • What did you discover when you put all your finding together ?

When I put all my findings together I discovered that when the height is the same as the width it is going to equal the maximum volume. But as the width get bigger the volume gets smaller. I proved this by putting the height and the width the same for one equation and in the other I changed it. This is how I checked my findings. I was actually a bite surprised at my finding but happy I finish. I think this has really helped me prepare for my PBAT and i'm really looking forward to starting my project.

  1. Great update!

    Some notes on your post:

    1. Examples, examples, examples! Your explanations are clear, but they will be better for the external evaluators if you wrote and explained with examples.

    2. The tables were organized differently because the calculations had to be different due to ... ?? You didn't really answer the question. Think about the reason that width expressions and length expressions were different.

  2. Thanks for telling me what is need to fix Wan. This marking period I will be sure to make those corrections.

  3. i agree with wan your explanations are clear but you should have exlpain with examples. also what's the reason that the width and length expressions were different?
