Exit Slip- Connecting the Volume and the surface area formulas

1) Why is it necessary for us to combine two formulas ?
It is necessary for us to combine two formulas because it helps make the work for me easier. It helps simplify the formulas and less work would need to be done.
2) Connection: What would you need to do if you were to apply the same skill to your can ?
Well I would need get H by itself in the Volume formula then after that I would need to plug it into the surface area formula then after that I would get the surface area for my volume. That's what is think needs to be done if I was to apply this technique to my can.

Exit Slip- Varying the radius and solving for heights

1) What was the important concept of today's lesson?
The important part of today's lesson was to generalize our radius. This was important because in our PBAT we are going to keep the volume the same while changing the radius. By generalizing my function it will allow me to be able to change the size of my can but not change the volume.

2) What mathematical tool did you use today ? Why was it helpful ? How did using the tool make your job easier?
The mathematical tool I used today was the in and out table, also the Volume formula v=\pi r^2h. This was helpful because this helped me organize my data for the PBAT and it helped me get a better understanding of what I need to do on my PBAT. Using the tools made my job easier because it helped me get a better understanding of my work and get comfortable with my PBAT work.
